Maple Open House Weekend is Vermont’s sweetest celebration of the season. Over 90 sugarhouses and maple-loving businesses across Vermont invite you to learn, taste, and explore all the ways to enjoy Vermont Maple. From pancake breakfasts and maple donuts to live music, craft cocktails, tours, and samples, you'll be savoring sticky-goodness from sunup to sundown. Come out for a weekend packed with tradition, flavor, and fun.

Try your hand at axe throwing with Burly Axe! Their expert coaches will help you stick the landing.

Photo Booth | Top Block

Snap a photo with your friends at our vintage Airstream photo booth from Photo Booth Planet and capture the sweetest day on Church Street. 

Woodturning Demonstration at Frog Hollow Craft Gallery | 85 Church Street | 11am 

Watch Vermont woodturner Kevin Kelley demonstrate his craft. Kevin began turning spindles for staircases in New England in the 1970s before moving to Hawaii, where he continued working with local woods. Now back in Vermont, he creates beautiful pieces from salvaged trees and storm-fallen wood.

Vermont Evaporator | Top Block

Founded in 2015 by Kate and Justin McCabe, Vermont Evaporator provides high-quality maple equipment for hobbyists and small-scale producers. Stop by to learn about maple equipment and the craft of sugaring. 

Vermont Public | 2nd Block

Visit the Vermont Public tent for a free, all-ages activity, enter our giveaways, pick up some cool swag, and learn how you could take home a limited-edition bottle of Runamok maple syrup! Vermont Public is your independent, community-supported public media organization, serving Vermonters with local news, storytelling, music, and events, along with trusted programming from PBS and NPR.

UVM Proctor Maple Research Center | 3rd Block

The UVM Proctor Maple Research Center, the world’s oldest maple research center, will be tabling downtown. Learn how maple syrup is graded and chat with researchers about maple science, education, and sugaring traditions.

Live Local Music

Enjoy live music from talented local musicians while you relax by cozy fire pits scattered throughout the marketplace. 

EmaLou & The Beat | 11am

An acoustic trio featuring three-part harmonies, guitar, and percussion; Alayna Howard, Emma Cook, and Andy Feltus have been performing together for over a decade. Playing a mix of contemporary and classic folk, rock ‘n roll, and pop music with originals mixed in, they’ll draw you in and draw a crowd. Their shared history and deep friendship shine through, adding that extra sparkle to every song.

Sunbeam | 1pm

Sunbeam is a charming river town inspired by our roots and nestled in Burlington, Vermont. Our indie-folk/Americana band, Sunbeam, mirrors the town’s dual nature: a bright and hopeful Main Street facade with stories of struggle and resilience hiding just beneath the surface. Our music captures this contrast, blending raw, heartfelt lyrics with the rustic beauty of every creek and harmony. Here in Sunbeam, every note tells a tale, and every story finds its song.

The Leatherbound Books | 3pm

The Leatherbound Books blend pop-tinged indie rock with crushing low self-esteem to create music fit for a solo lap at your local roller rink or a ride in the back of a mid-90s station wagon. This Burlington, VT-based trio gets louder all the time, leaving their folksy roots behind and cranking distortion.

We're so excited to be bringing back the Postcard Club for Maple Madness! This is an opportunity to snag a free themed postcard, write a message to a friend or loved one, grab a stamp (yes, on us!), and send it to someone who missed out. Stop by our Postcard Club station at the Church Street tent on 3rd Block (outside Homeport) to pick up yours!
