Holidays on the Marketplace
The most wonderful time of the year!
Every November and December, the Marketplace becomes the hub of all things holiday for Chittenden County and Vermont at large. Embrace in the magic of the season with the Church Street Marketplace as you sip on hot cocoa, enjoy carolers, revel in the lights and most importantly, shop small!
Thank you to our generous 2022 presenting sponsor, Xfinity, for making the 2022 holiday season possible. Additional support for the 2022 holiday season was provided by J.P. Morgan Chase and Halvorson's Cafe.
Home for the Holidays
The Marketplace is your one-stop destination for all the holiday magic. With 100+ small businesses, free hot chocolate, visits with Santa, 100,000 illuminated lights, and so much more, the festive spirit is abundant! Find the definitive guide to Holidays on the Marketplace below.
The Definitive Guide to Holidays on the Marketplace
From the Tree Lighting to pop up carolers, the Marketplace is home to multiple holiday events in the month of December. Keep an eye on the event calendar as we get closer to the season to see what's in store.
2022 Shopping Guide
Shopping small helps us all. Support local for the holiday season and discover something for everyone on your list with the Marketplace Holiday Shopping Guide!
Each year we host a special parking program for the month of December to offer you free and discounted parking in Downtown Burlington.
Holiday Window Contest
Who has the best holiday window display on the Marketplace? Take a stroll down the street and vote for your favorite display! The winning store's team will receive a (seriously impressive) gift basket from Cabot Creamery.
The 2022 contest is now closed. Congratulations to the 2022 winners, Ten Thousand Villages!
Free Hot Chocolate
Support local by shopping at participating stores and receive free hot chocolate vouchers! 2022 coupons valid Dec. 1st through Dec. 24th, 2022 at the listed store on your voucher.
All aboard! The holiday kids' train takes your little one on a free ride along the Marketplace every Saturday throughout the season each year. Adults are welcome, too!
Santa Clause is Coming to Town
Santa comes to town throughout the week all month long every year to hear your wishes and take photos.
Every year, you can mail your wish list directly to the North Pole via the Santa mailboxes. If a return address is given, you may hear back from Santa himself!
Carolers pop up along the street throughout December.
