The Church Street Marketplace, 27 years old and going strong, hosts over 3,000,000 visitors/shoppers/diners per year. It is one of the finest pedestrian malls in the country, offering a wide variety of experiences to a steady local population and many tourists. In addition to upscale shopping and dining, the Marketplace hosts signature events and hundreds of local activities. The four blocks which make up the Marketplace present a diverse and delightful streetscape.

Shoppers, diners, retailers and merchants turned out in droves for the 2008 Annual Sidewalk Sale (July 30 - August 1). Thrity-four Church Street Marketplace businnesses had outdoor displays on at least one of the days during the Sidewalk Sale. There was significant participation by the public. Thanks to everyone who participated and to the Burlington Free Press, Buzz 99.9, Kool 105 and 98.9 WOKO for their promotion of this event.
