BROKEN BY DESIGNS
Vermont artist Amanda Canavan creates mosaic Pique Assiette furnishings for the home and garden using bits of broken china and glass. Her mosaic mirrors are incorporate shards of vintage pottery, china and stained glass that are often used with design elements that protrude from the mirror base to add interest and complexity. All of Canavan's ‘lazy susans' are her own designs. She starts with a custom cut, sealed exterior grade plywood base that has been mounted on a zinc coated premium bearing assembly. The bearing size is determined by the overall size of the lazy susan. Each bearing is rated for a minimum of 200 lbs. A great deal of time and care is invested in her work in order to make sure that it will be durable and safe. All sharp edges are ground smooth and all grout lines are sealed to prevent stains.
